About Travel Cobra
Who builds TravelCobra, why it exists, and how the information on this site is checked.
Who's behind TravelCobra Hi, I'm Osanda.
I'm a software developer from Colombo, Sri Lanka, and I built TravelCobra on my own in 2025. I still run it myself, which means every place, fix and feature on this site passes through my hands.
Why I built it
The idea started with a problem I kept running into. Whenever friends visited Sri Lanka, they'd ask me the same questions: what can we see in this city, how much is the entry fee, how early should we leave for Sigiriya, is the train to Ella worth it? The answers were scattered across old blog posts, forums and outdated guidebooks. I wanted one place with real, current details and a simple way to turn them into a day-by-day plan.
It has grown into something travellers help build, too. You can add hidden places, suggest corrections when a detail is wrong, share routes to an attraction and publish your own trips for others to use.
Local knowledge
I've lived in Sri Lanka all my life and have been travelling around the island since I was a child. Many of the places on this site are ones I've visited myself. For places I haven't been to, I rely on sources I trust and on travellers who have.
How the information is checked
Every place page includes practical details like entry fees, opening hours and how to get there. I check these against official sources and on-the-ground experience, and I update them when things change. Some descriptions are drafted with the help of writing tools, but every page is reviewed and edited by me before it's published.
Spotted a mistake?
You can suggest new places, report mistakes and share routes right on the site. Every suggestion is reviewed before it appears. If something looks wrong, please tell me at info@travelcobra.com.
Osanda, founder of TravelCobra Our purpose We are building a simpler way to plan real trips.
Travel Cobra is focused on one practical goal: helping travelers turn scattered ideas into a structured itinerary they can actually use. Instead of switching between notes, screenshots, maps, and spreadsheets, the planner brings the trip into one organized flow.
What we care about
Built for travelers The product is designed to stay useful before, during, and after planning.
Whether you are sketching a honeymoon route, organizing a short city break, or building a longer multi-day journey, the goal is the same: reduce planning friction and make the itinerary easier to manage.
