Jaffna Archaeological Museum

In the Nallur area of Jaffna, on land donated by the Arumuga Navalar Foundation, the Jaffna Archaeological Museum has served since its establishment in 1978 as the primary repository for the region's deep and layered material history. Housed alongside the Navalar Cultural Hall in its front portion, the museum holds a genuinely rare collection of antiquities spanning both Buddhist and Hindu religious traditions, artifacts rendered in metal, wood and stone tracing a timeline from ancient Sri Lanka through the colonial era.
